The founders of Jesus Our Hope are two priests: Father Roger Mollison and Father Don Bronstein. Their vision was to provide a safe place, away from the distractions of day-to-day life, where people could find God, His peace, and meet Him through the beauty of nature.
Fr. Mollison died in 2006. Fr. Bronstein currently serves at Elijah House in the Archdiocese of Denver.
Beginning with the Upper Land, Father Roger and his friends built Poustinias (prayer huts). In 1992, the neighboring property was added to the hermitage grounds, and Jesus Our Hope Hermitage began welcoming guests. St. Francis House was born.
In 1997, forty acres were added to the hermitage property, including St. Clare House.
In 2002, the Brothers of St. John purchased the ‘Upper Land’ and worked diligently to complete the dome house that Father Roger started. Regina Caeli was born.
In 2015, the Community of the Beatitudes of Denver was entrusted with the ministry of directing Jesus our Hope.
This ministry and its facilities are available to any person seeking God in beauty and solitude, regardless of religion, race, or creed. It is a place rich in Roman Catholic tradition, and all visitors, while not required to be Catholic, are expected to abide by the rules of Jesus Our Hope, which are centered around Catholic doctrine, as well as respecting the grounds, facilities, signs, symbols, and most especially the Eucharist.
